Ray Brimhall

I am Ray Brimhall. I am a singer, songwriter, recording artist born in Sacramento California. In 1968, my parents packed us 5 kids up and moved us to Washington state.

Both my parents were musicians. My dad played mandolin and guitar, my mom played piano and accordion. I have wonderful memories of Dad and Mom having people over and having jam sessions through the night. I picked up my Dad’s guitar and learned to play it at 11 years old. I was self taught and played by ear. All of my teen years were spent in learning all the current music of my youth. Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Journey, Boston, Van Halen, Kansas, Rush, Pink Floyd to name a few. I toured and played in rock bands in my twenties and was beginning to formulate ideas for my own songs.

Eventually, I had enough material to do my first album. And to date, finishing up on my second album. I feel so fortunate to have had so many great musical influences in my life. When I’m not writing music, I run my own business doing interior home remodels. I enjoy the remodeling process. Working with the clients and coming up with kitchen and bath design and everything else associated with home interiors is very satisfying. I have lots of interests. I love scuba diving, hiking, biking, traveling, and in terms of music, I love the songwriting process. It brings me great joy to involve other people in the songs I write and to watch the songs develop and mature.
